Ty's dedication

It has been a busy week for us. We had some friends over on Monday and Drew had fun with Ashlyn. Drew is really amazing all of us with growth of his communication skills. Just this morning he signed please and asked me for his 'bippop'. I had no clue what he wanted and after a minor fit I learned that 'bippop' was his slippers. He is imitating many more words and sounds. Always in perpetual motion, both mouth and body, he always keeps us laughing and on our toes. We are really surprised by some of the things he comes up with and remembers. His latest favorite book is "Where is Maisy?" that has flaps to lift up on each page as you read and try to find Maisy. We can read that book 15 times and he still wants to read it again. Most of our days are spent reading books. His other favorite thing to do is wear his beloved blanket like a cape. It's a little big for him to carry around without tripping on it, so when it's tied around his neck he doesn't trip and still has his hands free to carry everything else. And according to the poll, we should trim his hair. Thanks for the winning vote to put that option above the mohawk! As we started to trim his hair, little jerky movements required more to be cut than just a little bit - but he looks good. I still have to get a good picture of his new do.

On Saturday we headed to the Mall of America with Pete's parents, Minda's parents and brother Evan and sister-in-law Lydia. They were all over for Ty's baby dedication on Sunday. Pastor Jack did a wonderful job with the service. Ty lost a sock right before the service started so he went up barefoot - rather than have one sock on and one sock off! Our friends Chuck and Kalyn did an awesome job singing for Ty. We had a dinner after the service for our friends and family and we all had a great time - I can't speak for everyone else, but I didn't see anyone looking completely miserable!

Pete has gotten sick over the weekend, so please pray that he gets well quickly. He keeps a rigorous schedule between work and school and being sick on top of that is not good.

Ty is still doing well. He has been laughing a lot and cooing more. He has amused himself with his own sounds for more than an hour a couple of times!
I had my second physical therapy appointment this morning. My range of movement has improved but I still have the same exercises. Perhaps next week we can work on strengthening my hand.
We would also like you to pray for Pete's dad who is struggling with various health issues. He has had several appointments are is getting some answers, but other things are still a mystery. Please pray that he would feel well and that the Doctors have the wisdom to treat him appropriately.
