Sweet Little Salem

This picture has been the background on my phone for the last year. We have navigated our way through the first year without him. Lots of ups and downs. Lots of good days, better days, bad days and worse days. Unsurprisingly, while the clock ticks and time continues to push us forward, sometimes too quickly for our liking and other times too slowly, (we are so hard to please!) one thing never changed. God was always there, always providing what we needed and giving grace to cover us in our struggles. A friend asked if I felt empowered by making it through the first year. While I do feel relief, I don't really feel empowered. I know that it wasn't me. Well, on the bad and worse days it probably was me, and that's why they were the way they were. It is Christ in me. Thank you God, for bringing us through this year of firsts.
