Drew's newest word: Innair!

Once again, here we are with so many things happening I can't remember the big ones to tell you about! Drew's second eye tooth has popped through. He is trying out new words at an amazing rate, but most of them still need an interpreter. A typical Drewvian conversation: "Mama, truck truck? Go? Innair! Tyty, NOOO! Hungry!" He really keeps us laughing. Pete won our discussion on whether or not to give Drew his birthday trike early. Drew is having so much fun with it, but doesn't even attempt to pedal. He just waddles, much like a duck. Quite entertaining! Ty still seems to be teething, and I have felt a few bumps, but they seem to have gone back down again. Unfortunately, they left behind the discomfort. We had three nights in a row of little to no sleep and that is not Ty at all. Thankfully last night was much better again. Even though he had some rough nights, the days were still quite pleasant. He really is the happiest baby I've ever seen - and many of my friends as well. They all say I deserve it after Drew, but I think I'm blessed. We have enjoyed some very nice weather and have walked to the park and the zoo many times. I'm looking forward to the starting of the fountains and bringing Drew down to run in the water.Pete is nearing the end of his semester. He attended a men's retreat this last weekend and enjoyed his time with friends. We are all looking forward to our trip to Montana to visit some friends. We fly into Washington, and will drive into Montana - could be that they haven't thought to get their own airport? :) I have been able to play the keyboard again without too much problem from my hands. My hand has gotten stronger, doesn't ache as much, but still tires quickly.

We enjoyed a visit from my parents this weekend. Drew was so excited to see Papa and Nana. He also got to skype with Auntie Celeste, so that made both their days! If more of you distant family and friends have a web cam and would like to skype with the boys and I, just let us know. It's handy to keep in touch and helps the boys get to know you! Over and Out!

What's in the clothes dryer?

Now that Easter has come and gone it really feels like spring is here. Leaves are starting to open and we've had a few days of really warm, sunny weather. It is hard to stay indoors and get things done! For the first time in quite awhile, our family has all been healthy this last week! Both boys have been teething; Drew is getting his top eye teeth and Ty is working on something. That made some of the days a little long, but better than being sick! I am looking for a translator for Drew...I can't tell the difference between his 'stuck', 'truck', 'drink', and 'nuk'. They all sound the same to me. We did color eggs with Drew - and he did really well. No colored hands, but lots of 'oooo!' Pete's parents were with us for the weekend, so it was good to see them again. Because of illness it had been awhile. Pete's dad has been feeling better, so thank you for your prayers. The boys and I spent Friday with some friends at their farm. We had eight kids, seven running around since Ty stays where you put him! The volume was a little loud at times, but a good, fun day.
Now for the answer to the blog title, EVERYTHING - except for clothes that is! We hid eggs for Drew to find this year. First we had to go looking for his basket. He likes to play with it, so it never got put away from last year. We found it in the clothes dryer. Yes, just like the chicken. The worst part was, he hid Ty's stuffed bunny the next day. Pete and I looked for a long time for that bunny. We didn't look downstairs in the dryer...and that's where it was. I was so sure he hadn't even been downstairs. Go figure. Next time we'll look there first and it won't be there! Over and Out!

April snow showers

So it's been awhile. As a gift for my dad for his 50th birthday, we all headed back home - all as in our family as well as my siblings - to be together to celebrate. It was the first time in quite awhile, as we were unable to get back for Christmas. Celeste, the boys and I all stayed for most of the week after the party. Pete had come home for classes and work, so Celeste drove us home. The boys behaved very well for Auntie! :) We have also been sick - Pete started, then shared with Drew, who shared with me. Thankfully, Ty has shown no signs of getting sick yet. We pray that he doesn't. It was a nasty bug. Drew had a fever of 102.6 for three days and was just miserable for many more days. While we were visiting with my parents, Ty decided to start siting up. He'll go for a minute or two before toppling, less time if Drew is around. Ty also had his first cereal the night we got home. He loves it. We all thought that Drew had a voracious appetite, but Ty is ready to keep up with him. Pete jokes that we will each need a second job to feed just Drew....what about Ty? On a serious side, we had Ty's appointment with the foot specialist this morning. The foot problems he has are due from his position in the womb and being a larger baby. There is nothing we need to do at this point, but there is potential he may have problems as he gets older and more active, usually in sports. If this is the case, we will cross that bridge when we get there; but at this point, he's fine. Drew continues to be Drew. He is trying out more words that sound nothing like what they should, but to him they mean something and if you can't get it figure out, watch out! He was also beat up by the pew at church and has yet another black eye. Sometimes I wonder if he will end up with a permanent black eye! While he was slow moving and even cuddly for a few days while he was sick, he is back to his full speed ahead and we are scrambling to keep up with him. Pete is looking forward to summer and no classes for awhile. He is still at the front of his classes and doing well. I'm keeping busy trying to keep our home presentable for spring safety inspections, you never know for sure which day they will show up! Look at that smile - can't tell he loves his food can you? Pete's dad seems to be doing better, but he is having different problems with some medications and reactions to them. Please continue to pray. Thanks! Guess that is all for now...we pray God will bless you and your families as we celebrate his death and resurrection this Easter! Over and Out!

Interesting Interactions

These days we have quite a few comical conversations with the boys. Here is what took place just this morning: I was sitting with both boys on my lap. Drew had just filled his diaper and wasn't smelling too good. I was working with him, trying to get him to nod his head 'yes' instead of always 'no'. Finally we had success and we cheered for him. Then this happened: "OK Drew, now we will go change your diaper and you can help mommy with the laundry." This struck Ty's funny bone and he just giggled. This struck us as funny; Drew helping? Yes, funny concept at times. But Ty thinking it was funny? That was really funny! So after we had laughed Drew shifted his weight releasing an unpleasant odor from his britches. "Wow Drew, you really smell!" Drew sniffs several times and responds with "Mmmmm!!!" Yeah, not so much!

Anyway - please pray for Pete's dad. This morning he was taken to the hospital around 2 because he couldn't breathe. His lungs were filling up with fluid. They have given him a large dose of diuretic to help eliminate fluid and he is in ICU in Iron Mountain. Thanks for your prayers! And I'll leave you with a picture of Drew enjoying his chocolate pudding! Over and Out!
