Duckie!

After many tries, I finally got a shot of Ty standing up. He did use the stool to get started, but he is also standing on his own in the middle of the room now too. He stands up and calls out: "Uh!! Uh!!" as if to say, "look at me!" Then he laughs and occasionally has tried to dance and then falls. He has only tried to take steps a few times and has fallen right away; now he is afraid to try again. But he's soo close!!

When both the boys were born I had chosen a gender neutral outfit for them to wear home from the hospital. Even though we have several neutral outfits, I think this baby should have something new to wear home. I was going to take my mom's advice this time and buy two outfits - one for a girl and one for a boy - and let her wash whichever was needed and we could return or gift the other outfit. So Drew was with me while I was picking out some cute outfits. The conversation was great : "Mommy, clothes? For baby? " "Yes, Drew, we need some clothes for the new baby. How about this one? Do you like the bears and trucks?" "No Mommy. No trucks." "How about the lions? Do you like the lions?" "Nope!" "Ok Drew, what do you like?" "No Panda! No Giraffe! No Trucks! Duckie!" "You like the duckie?" "Yes, for baby in mommy's tummy. Duckie!" So gender neutral we are again...the outfit is green, yellow and white, with a little duck on the shirt and bottom. It was fun to see him so excited to pick out something for the baby. He then followed it up with a big, pink stuffed animal. After seeing the price tag, I talked him down to a small toy that he can give to baby when baby comes. He chose a tiny giraffe that will clip to the car seat. He carried it through the store, talking about baby and baby coming. The lady at the register even gave him a small bag for just the toy so he could carry it out to the car. He is taking very good care of this toy he is going to give to baby. He even tried to dig under my shirt trying to "find baby". Three months to go seems so short to me, yet trying to explain it to Drew is difficult.

  1. That is too sweet, I asked Jude today if he wanted another baby and he told me he wants a baby sister. So maybe I'll have to work on that. :)
