Amazed

When you are three so many things strike you as amazing. Ordinary things become extravagant by one tiny change - a change unnoticed by most - but completely fascinating by our young boys. A simple trip to McDonald's, for example, is not a routine for us; but it has happened enough that there is a certain expectation. You stand in line, pay, get a "hangabur", eat, and leave. Yesterday, Pete and I threw the wrench in. We changed it up, and got a very delighted little boy. Ty was delighted as well, but Drew was fascinated. So much so, he asked first thing this morning for the experience to be repeated. We bought the boys ice cream cones. Yes, just ice cream cones - the cheap ones for 49 cents. But, the wrench was in who served them. Unkie gave his nephews their ice cream. Pictures were not captured, and initial excitement was over the ice cream and not the server...but the association has been made. Unkie can give ice cream. I know I will be wishing for the nickle for each time asked, "go see Unkie and get ice cream please?"
