We have had a busy week. Pete was bored his first week on the new job; he just loves paperwork and orientation! He is excited about the guys he is working with though. He said they are very laid back, easy going and joke around and that keeps the atmosphere pleasant. This week will be a long one for him as he works 10 hour shifts Mon - Thurs and then has Friday off and starts his regular shift on Saturday. He will work three 12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and be off Mon - Thurs. On Saturday we visited some friends and their new baby, had lunch with friends and then headed to the mountains. It was so beautiful! The boys were exclaiming over everything and pointing out all the things they could see. We found a playground where they ran out some energy and took a walk on a trail along a lake. A storm caught us off guard a bit and had us running back for cover just as the rain started.
Sunday was another fun, busy day. We visited a church in Westminster. The pastor is my best friends dad and it was fun to be back in a church we had visited before and reconnect with friends. After they had their all-church picnic. The boys had fun playing and we watched a lightning storm come in off the mountains. It was beautiful. Today Pete is back at work and it is HOT...but not as hot and humid as Michigan is right now...I'll take this!!
A little Ty story to leave you with. We had some ice cream for a treat the other day and Ty was watching everyone else eat. He was so distracted that he put his arm down into his ice cream. He looked up at me, down at his arm, and back up at me. "Taste it. Taste it Mommy!" "No Ty, I am not going to eat the ice cream off your arm!" Yes, taste it!" "No Ty." "Why Mommy?" "I don't want to Ty. I have my own ice cream." "I'll taste it then!" Then we all watched him try to lick the ice cream off his arm...for about two minutes. "I can't reach it...poor ice cream. This not good!"
