Fun Adventures

Last week while Pete was off we had a lot of fun keeping busy. We explored new parks, went geo-caching, hiking in the Mountains, picnicking, swimming...It was a lot of fun. Here we are hiking around Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. At one of the playgrounds in Estes Park, the boys found a super fast slide. It was easily the highlight of Jude's day! Look at that smile! We spent a long time just going up and down the slide. A couple of older photos, one of the boys and I on the 4th, and then one of Pete and the boys waiting for the parade. Today is Pete's last day of work until he goes back on Friday. It has been a hard adjustment for the boys to not have daddy around at bedtime, but I think it will be really worth it having four days off every week. It allows us to do a lot of fun things as a family. And there is so much to do here!!
Having Wal-Mart just a block and a half away has given us an opportunity to take short walks when we need something and not have to shop for several weeks at a time. The other day, on such a walk, I was following behind Drew and Ty, pushing the stroller with Jude. Drew and Ty were holding hands and Drew sneezed. Ty said "Bless you". Drew remembered to say "Thank You" and Ty answered with "You're welcome." It was so sweet, and totally made me forget that just two minutes ago they were fighting and hitting.
On Tuesday we went to a park nearby where a local church was hosting a BBQ. It started to thunder and rain with big bolts of lighting shooting through the sky. No one moved a muscle and the fun continued, until Drew and Jude, both wet, were shivering cold. I walked home with the neighbors and Pete and Ty stayed longer. As we were walking, and I didn't have the camera of course, we saw the brightest, clearest rainbow I had ever seen. It was a double, of sorts. The top was bright and clear, with the second rainbow a triple in itself!! The bottom rainbow was three layers of all the colors! My description doesn't do it justice, I know, but it was awesome. An awesome reminder of what a Great God we serve!
